2018 Optima Features

The modifications to the 2018 Optima will continue to elaborate on the advancements made in previous years. For example, the trend toward developing a sportier and sleeker exterior (without being too aggressive) is a given. The Optima has always been a good-looking sedan, and it continues to refine its look.

Changes are coming underneath the hood as well. The 2018 Optima will have a new engine – a 7-speed, 1.6 liters, turbo 4-cylinder engine, to be exact, with 195 pounds/foot of torque. Projections are not quite official yet, but this new Optima engine expects to produce an admirable fuel rating of 28/39 miles per gallon city/highway, making those weekend trips to Hood River even more cost-efficient.

Kia’s world headquarters has always embraced the Optima as being a high-quality yet affordable sedan. Consequently, it is firmly entrenched within that niche, and we don’t expect to see prices elevate significantly in 2018. The base version is expected to cost around $22,500, while the fully-loaded version may run closer toward $36,000.
